:-) I get at least 15-20 calls a day from numbers I don't recognize and need to block, but because I operate a business I have to verify for sure if it is a sales, spam or scam number so I don't have a choice but to call the number to find out who it is. By: Maralee McKee, Manners Mentor Hello, my friend, and welcome to Q & A Day Todays question is about caller I.D. but I often times call the number to then have info to put into 1800 notes for others to see, and the only way I can do that is to call the number that called me that I don't recognize and then report it and help others. That is actually not correct, I often times call numbers and use *67 and often times, after speaking to someone asking them to remove me from their calling list they ask me if the number I want removed is " - " and it is in fact the number I just called them from even though I used *67 and it is not only if calling an 800 or toll free number, it is with any number that goes to a business or a collection company or bank or credit card, they have phone software that automatically unblocks numbers as they enter the call queue - for me, the number I call them from I don't ever answer or have an answering machine hooked up to and isn't the original number they called me on.
